Blackwell

Mr. Blackwell represents both employers and employees in a wide range of employment law matters. His practice includes advising clients on issues that arise in the workplace, including executive compensation, employment agreements, separation agreements, restrictive covenants, employee policies, workplace investigations, and risk management strategies. Mr. Blackwell also counsels businesses on compliance with federal and New Jersey employment laws addressing workplace discrimination, harassment, wrongful termination, retaliation, and workplace accommodations.

As part of the direct client services Mr. Blackwell provides, he also advises individuals and families with trust and estate planning, gift and succession planning and, if necessary, litigation relating to trusts and estates. Mr. Blackwell also prepares wills, trusts, powers of attorney and advance health care directives.

In addition, Mr. Blackwell represents clients in a broad range of general civil litigation matters. His litigation experience includes breach of contract claims, business torts, employment disputes, and other business-related conflicts. Drawing on more than thirty years of experience in both state and federal courts, Mr. Blackwell works with clients to develop practical legal strategies to address disputes and pursue their business and legal objectives.

Mr. Blackwell was selected to the list of NJ Super Lawyers by Thomson Reuters in 2025. This is his eighth consecutive year of selection.  The Super Lawyers list identifies attorneys who have been recognized by their peers for their professional accomplishments with no more than five percent of attorneys in the State named to this list each year. Mr. Blackwell is a member of the Madison Area YMCA Board of Directors and serves on the organization’s Executive Committee.  Mr. Blackwell is also a court-appointed mediator in connection with the Morris County Chancery Committee.
